The pressure’s on as the three remaining American Idol contestants - Melinda, Jordin and Blake - sing three songs: one picked by a judge, one suggested by the show’s producers and one of their own choosing. Liza Persky has a few nits to pick with the song choices her girls made, but she’d rather dance the night away.

This week’s American Idol turned out to be a painful couple of hours for many viewers, but the Idol Critic endured. Bee Gees frontman Barry Gibb dropped by and helped the four AI finalists figure out how to sing the group’s songs - with mixed results. Liza Persky was watching . . . and wondering:
- If disco is dead, who killed it?
- Barry : What’s with those choppers?
- How can you really mend a broken heart?
- Judge Judy. Huh?Enjoy the show and remember: The Idol Critic don’t beatbox on every joint, dude!
Jon Bon Jovi - looking all of 15 years old - plays mentor to the six Idol finalists. Everyone but Jordan seems to have listened closely. Liza Persky was watching and listening closely too, so tune in to find out:
- What’s up with Phil’s hand gestures?
- What was Gina Glocksen doing with her head in her hands.
- When the judges criticize you, should you agree?
- Who was sitting in the church lady seat?
- What the hell was below Robin Thicke’s nose?
- Who is worse than Sanjaya? Cheap viagra Buy viagra online Buy viagra Buy cialis
Martina McBride mentored the Idol contestants on the finer points of singing country and Liza has a few country-western fashion and etiquette tips:
- Don’t wear disco clothes
- Don’t wear an argyle sweater
- Don’t wear gold boots
- Don’t wear Barbie doll dresses
- Don’t go into the audience without a plan
- Don’t talk back to the judges
American Idol viewers finally came to their senses and Sanjaya went bye-a. But we haven’t seen the last of him, says a shocked, disappointed and relieved Liza Persky. Stick around until the end of the clip and see what the future holds for Mr. Malakar.
The delectable Jennifer Lopez tried to help the Idol contestants get their Latin rhythm on. She did a good job but the contestants struggled. Fortunately, the Idol Critic never struggles. She reviews this week’s show and wonders:
- Can Melinda Doolittle do sexy?
- Why was Micky Dolenz in the audience?
- What exactly are goose pimples?
- Why doesn’t LaKisha listen?
- Where do Haley’s legs take her from here?
Contestants come and go, but in the refrigerator of life the Idol Critic is a magnet of joy.
Gwen Stefani did a turn as special guest and gave the top 10 (or at least some of them) her musical advice. It’s not clear if the contestants were listening but Liza Persky sure was.
Tune in for her Idol Thoughts on LaKisha, Chris Sligh, Haley, Paula Abdul and, of course, Sanjaya. And don’t miss Liza’s impression of Melinda Doolittle. It’s an instant classic.
The fab Liza Persky delivers the real dish on this week’s American Idol.
Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits and Lulu provide some guidance as the 11 finalists perform songs from the 1960s British Invasion.
How did they do?
Liza Persky knows. But first of all, she wants to know:
- why does she have an inappropriate crush on Chris Richardson?
- who was that crying kid in the audience?
- where does Haley get her legs waxed?
- when did Chris Sligh become so annoying?
From Sanjaya stating the obvious to Blake Lewis beatboxing to Simon Cowell smirking, it’s all here on this week’s Idol Critic.
